STAT announces the promotion of partners and counsel and the recent hiring of senior attorneys in the Capital Markets and Banking and Finance teams

STAT Law firm is pleased to announce the promotion of Mansour Alobaidallah and Noura Alshahrani to partner and Raneem Alsuhaibani to counsel effective 1 January 2024. These promotions, together with the joining of Richard Blackburn (Senior Counsel in our Banking and Finance Practice) and Anna Leung (Counsel in our Capital Markets Practice), demonstrate the firm’s commitment to expand its footprint in the market while maintaining the quality service our clients deserve.
Brief about Mansour Alobaidallah:
Mansour has extensive experience advising Saudi and international corporate clients on various matters including general corporate, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, competition, foreign investments, employment matters, franchises and agencies, and e-commerce and logistics businesses. He also advises CMA and SAMA licensed clients in connection with their licensing and regulatory requirements. Mansour also has significant experience advising clients on real estate projects including real estate investment funds transactions and real estate development projects.
Mansour holds a Master of Laws from the Chapman University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Law from King Saud University. He is a qualified lawyer in Saudi Arabia and is a member of the Saudi Arabian Bar Association.
Brief about Norah Alshahrani:
Norah ’s practice focuses on dispute resolution and regulatory. She has significant experience representing local and international clients in high profile litigation and arbitration cases in a wide range of industries, including real estate, telecommunication, construction, aviation, energy and financial services. Norah also advises government entities on regulatory projects, legislative drafting and public policy and compliance matters.
Norah holds Masters Degree in Sharia and Law from the Prince Nayef Arab University For Security Sciences and a Bachelor of Law from King Saud University. She is a qualified lawyer in Saudi Arabia, licensed by the Ministry of Justice and is a member of the Saudi Arabian Bar Association.
Brief about Raneem Alsuhaibani:
Raneem has extensive experience advising government entities on matters relating to their regulatory functions, sector governance reforms, national strategies implementation plans, and general legal/regulatory challenges. She also has experience advising corporate clients, both Saudi and international, on various matters including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate governance, construction projects, and complex commercial contracts.
Raneem holds a Master of Laws from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BA in Law from Prince Sultan University. She is a qualified lawyer in Saudi Arabia and is a member of the Saudi Arabian Bar Association.
Brief about Richard Blackburn:
Richard has extensive experience in advising international and regional banks, funds and corporates in relation to derivatives (both conventional and Islamic) and Islamic finance transactions. Richard also advises in relation to regulatory capital transactions and structured product issuances. Prior to joining STAT, Richard practiced with several major US and UK law firms and has spent time on secondment with several investment banks.
Richard is a qualified lawyer in England and Wales. Has an LPC from the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice, a GDL from the College of Law, London and a BA & MA from Corpus Christi College, University of Oxford.
Brief about Anna Leung:
Anna advises both issuers and managers on a range of capital markets transactions including IPOs, debt capital markets transactions, project bonds and securitisation. She has worked on many high-profile transactions including the first Rule 144a securities offering by Saudi Aramco, Saudi Aramco’s iconic IPO, the first Sukuk offering by the Kingdom’s Ministry of Finance and the first 144a corporate bond offering by a Kuwaiti corporate.
Anna is a qualified lawyer in Victoria, Australia and New Zealand. Has a LLB (Honours) and BCom from University of Auckland, New Zealand.
