AlSalloum & AlToaimi, the best law firm in Saudi Arabia pursuant to 2017 IFLR Middle East Awards and emeafinance Middle East Banking Awards 2017, and Turkistani & Alabbad, a leading Saudi Arabian law firm, are pleased to announce that they are merging effective on 24 November 2019. The merged firm will be named Salloum, Turkistani, Abbad, Amoudi and Toaimi and will operate under the STAT trademark.
With six partners, one counsel and over a dozen associates, STAT will have one of the largest legal teams on the ground in Saudi Arabia, offering Saudi and international clients a dedicated and experienced team of Saudi, English and New York qualified lawyers with the necessary depth and range of specialist capabilities that are critical to clients to navigate them through the period of change that Saudi Arabia, a key market in the GCC, is currently witnessing. STAT’s lawyers have been trained and served as partners and senior lawyers at large international law firms in Saudi Arabia, the USA, Europe and other countries in the Middle East. They regularly advise Saudi Arabia’s and the world’s leading corporates and financial institutions, government-related enterprises and government bodies on many of the most innovative and complex transactions and disputes.
The combination significantly strengthens STAT’s client offerings, as well as the practice and industry capabilities of the combined firm. The combined capabilities, which are highly complementary, cover a wide range of practice areas, including corporate and M&A, equity and debt capital markets, banking and Islamic finance, and dispute resolution. In addition to STAT’s depth of experience and awareness of market practice, clients will benefit from the team’s innovative mindset and willingness to design optimal — and at times completely unique — structures to achieve their legal and business objectives.
STAT will be co-managed by partners Jihad Turkistani and Zeyad AlSalloum. Zeyad said: “The merger is an exciting development for all of us. We will have a coherent team of partners who have all worked together at one point of their legal career. The merger of these two highly rated and experienced law firms will benefit our clients and allow us to further fulfill our mutual objectives of continuing to meet their needs and exceed their expectations”. Jihad added: “STAT is a natural response to market demand for strong local knowledge and presence on the ground. STAT will offer its clients a full range of legal services. From the first day, it will be business as usual for STAT and we will keep servicing our clients without any interruption”.
